Agriculture Overview
In Uzbekistan, since 2017, the Bank helped support the horticulture and livestock sectors, leading to the creation of 32,502 jobs, including 12,762 jobs for girls. Horticulture productivity increased by 24 %, while sales of horticulture products rose by 370 p.c on common. InTunisia, the Bank helped 113 distant rural villages improveland administration practices on 37,000 hectares of land to extend productivity, and improved 930 kilometers of rural roads serving some a hundred and sixty villages. In Myanmar,the Bank has helped enhance irrigation infrastructure and the use of climate-smart applied sciences. Since 2017, the Bank helped to enhance irrigation and drainage on 19,595 hectares of land that serve 33,688 beneficiaries and shared climate-smart agricultural applied sciences with eight,088 beneficiaries–26 percent of them women.
